Albanian Hearts

Albania is a tiny but very pretty country in southern Europe, close to Macedonia. It’s possibly the least visited European countries but that is changing as more and more people become aware of its splendour. This country has exceptional, clean sandy beaches, almost virgin mountain regions, and trendy, improving cities.

Albania’s sandy beaches are lovely. These beaches are generally white, sandy beaches although there are a handful of pebble beaches too. You can if you want sit down in the warm sun on a towel or lease a sunbed, the decision is up to you. A lot of the beaches are more or less untouched by foreign visitors and a few are so quiet that you can quite possibly have the beach all to yourself, even in in the peak season.

There are a number of fantastic mountain regions in Albania. The mountainous areas in the north are ideal for skiing or hiking and you can also find many waterfalls and amazing lakes in that part of the country. The mountains in the north are great to view but the other mountain regions are also great.

Albanian cities are very vibrant with a cafe culture resulting in so many hip cafes to choose from. Albania cities such as Elbasan are worth spending time in to view the historic old city area and possibly to visit a few museums.

You will most likely find that Albanians are extremely warm and welcoming and will be more than happy to introduce you to their country if you go there.
