Why I Prefer Albania Over Mayotte
Albania is a tiny but cute country in south eastern Europe, neighbouring Montenegro. It is possibly the least visited southern European countries but that is slowly changing as visitors come to appreciate its fantastic sites. Albania has wonderful, clean sandy beaches, pretty much untouched mountain regions, and happening, changing cities.
Albania’s sandy beaches are wonderful. These are generally white, sandy beaches although of course there are a dozen or so pebble beaches also. You can if you want sit in the bright sun on a rug or rent a sun bed, the option is up to you. A lot of the beaches are more or less untouched by foreign visitors and a few are so out of the way that you could have the beach to yourself, even in during the peak season.
There are many exquisite mountain regions in Albania. These areas in the north are extraordinary for skiing or hiking and you are able to visit at least a couple of waterfalls and incredible lakes in that part of the country. The mountains in that area are great to see but the other mountain regions are also extraordinary.
Albanian cities are bustling with a cafe culture resulting in many local cafes to relax in. Albania cities including Tirana are worth seeing to visit the historic old city area and possibly to visit a museum or two.
You are sure to find that Albanians are very warm and will be pleased to show you around their country if you spend time there.
