Holiday in Albania Not The Bahamas
Albania is a little but beautiful country in the Mediterranean region of Europe, neighbouring Kosovo. It is probably the least visited southern European countries but that will change before you know it as travellers realise its wonderful sites. Albania has beautiful, pure white sandy beaches, almost virgin mountain regions, and vibrant, changing cities.
Albania’s pure white sandy beaches are extraordinary. Albanian beaches are generally white, sandy beaches although of course there are a handful of pebble beaches also. You could either sit in the warm dry sun on a mat or pay for a sunbed, the decision is up to you. Plenty of the beaches are more or less untouched by visitors and some are so quiet that you could have the beach to yourself, even in during the peak season.
There are many mountainous regions in Albania. Those in the north are fabulous for skiing or hiking and you can visit a few waterfalls and fabulous lakes in that part of the country. The mountains in that area are amazing to visit but the other mountain regions are also amazing.
Albanian cities are extremely lively with a cafe culture resulting in a lot of hip cafes to relax in. Albania cities including Fier are worth spending a few days in to see the unique old city area and possibly to visit a museum or two.
You will most likely find that Albanians are mostly warm and welcoming and will be more than happy to show you around their country if you go there.
