Albania is a very small but amazing country on the Mediterranean, very close to Italy. Albania is one of the less often visited countries in the Mediterranean but that is starting to change as more people take note of its amazing sites. Albania has wonderful, sandy beaches, pristine mountain regions, and young, expanding cities.
Albania’s pure white sandy beaches are wonderful. These beaches are mostly white, sandy beaches although there are a dozen pebble beaches also. You can sit down in the warm dry sun on a mat or get a bed, the choice is up to you to make. A lot of the beaches are pretty much untouched by foreign visitors and a handful are so remote that you can quite possibly be alone on the beach, even in summer.
There are many interesting mountain areas in Albania. These regions in the north are wonderful for skiing or hiking and you can see a few waterfalls and spectacular lakes in the area. The mountains in the north are fabulous to view but the other mountain regions are also brilliant.
Albanian cities are extremely lively with a cafe culture leading to many trendy cafes to choose from. Albania cities for example Tirana are worth spending time in to view the unique old city area and not to mention to visit a couple of museums.
Most Albanian people are very hospitable and will be more than pleased to take you around their country if you take the time to visit it.
