Albania is a fairly small but fun country in the Mediterranean region of Europe, neighbouring Serbia. It’s quite possibly the least visited countries in Europe but that is starting to change as more visitors appreciate its fantastic sites. Albania has extraordinary, sandy beaches, pristine mountain regions, and trendy, expanding cities.
Albania’s sandy beaches are lovely. They are most often white, sandy beaches but of course there are a few pebble beaches also. You can if you want hang out in the warm sun on a mat or pay for a lounge, the choice is yours. Plenty of the beaches are practically untouched by foreign visitors and a couple are so quiet that you can quite possibly have the beach all to yourself, even in in during popular times.
There are many mountainous areas in Albania. The mountains in the north are exceptional for skiing or hiking and you can possibly visit a few waterfalls and incredible lakes in the area. The mountains in the north are fantastic to view but the other mountain regions are also brilliant.
Albanian cities are extremely vibrant with a cafe culture meaning there are heaps of great cafes to spend time in. Albania cities for example Durres are worth spending a few days in to view the unique old city area and not to mention to visit a few museums.
Albanian people are mostly hospitable and will be glad to take you around their country if you are there.
