Visiting Albania is Better Than Visiting Ashmore and Cartier Islands

Albania is a fairly small but very beautiful country in the south of Europe, fairly close to Kosovo. This country is quite possibly the least visited countries in the Mediterranean but that is slowly changing as travellers start to appreciate its amazing attractions. It has wonderful, sandy beaches, more of less virgin mountain regions, and young, changing cities.

Albania’s clean sandy beaches are fantastic. These are usually white, sandy beaches but there are a handful of pebble beaches also. You could either hang out in the bright sun on a rug or rent a sun bed, the decision is yours to make. A lot of the beaches are more or less untouched by foreigners and a number are so out of the way that you could possibly have the beach pretty much all to yourself, even in August.

There are plenty of mountainous areas in Albania. These areas in the north are fantastic for skiing or hiking and you can possibly find at least a few waterfalls and incredible lakes in that part of the country. Those mountains are amazing to visit but the other mountain regions are also spectacular.

Albanian cities are fun with a cafe culture meaning there are a lot of cool cafes to visit. Albania cities like Berat are worth spending time in to visit the historic old city area and also to visit a museum or two.

People from Albania are mostly welcoming and will be excited to show you around their country if you take the time to visit.
