Albania is a little but very pretty country in the Balkan region, not too far from Macedonia. It’s currently one of the less popular Mediterranean countries but that has already started to change as tourists come to appreciate its amazing attractions. This country has wonderful, white sandy beaches, almost virgin mountain regions, and trendy, growing cities.

Albania’s pure white sandy beaches are unbelievable. Albanian beaches are mostly white, sandy beaches except there are a dozen pebble beaches also. You could if you like sit in the bright sun on a blanket or hire a sunbed, the decision is yours. Most of the beaches are totally untouched by tourists and a handful are so out of the way that you could quite possibly have the beach pretty much all to yourself, even in summer.

There are many beautiful mountain areas in Albania. The mountains in the north are extraordinary for skiing or hiking and you can view a lot of waterfalls and astonishing lakes in the area. The mountains in the north are exciting to visit but the other mountain regions are also spectacular.

Albanian cities are lively with a cafe culture leading to huge numbers of trendy cafes to relax in. Albania cities like Shkodra are worth taking the time to visit to visit the historic old city area and also to visit a few museums.

You are sure to find that Albanians are mostly hospitable and will be more than glad to take you around their country if you are there.
