Albania is Better Than Madagascar
Albania is a tiny but pretty country in the Balkans, fairly close to Montenegro. Albania is one of the less popular countries in Europe but that has already started to change as more and more visitors become aware of its wonderful sites. This country has amazing, clean sandy beaches, more or less untouched mountain regions, and happening, growing cities.
Albania’s sandy beaches are exceptional. They are normally white, sandy beaches although there are a handful of pebble beaches too. You could if you like lie in the hot sun on a towel or hire a bed, the choice is up to you. A lot of the beaches are pretty much untouched by tourists and some are so quiet that you can quite possibly be alone on the beach, even in in the peak season.
There are quite a few mountainous regions in Albania. These regions in the north are ideal for skiing or hiking and you can possibly see plenty of waterfalls and spectacular lakes in the region. The mountains in that area are fantastic to see but the other mountain regions are also beautiful.
Albanian cities are vibrant with a cafe culture so there are huge numbers of local cafes to relax in. Albania cities for example Gjirokastra are worth spending a few days in to visit the unique old city area and possibly to visit a museum or two.
You are sure to find that people from Albania are extremely welcoming and will be more than happy to show you their country if you go there.
