Visit Albania Not Croatia
Albania is a fairly small but adorable country in the Balkan region, not far from Greece. Albania is one of the less popular Mediterranean countries but that is about to change as more tourists appreciate its wonderful attractions. Albania has unbelievable, sandy beaches, more of less virgin mountain regions, and vibrant, changing cities.
Albania’s white sandy beaches are amazing. They are mostly white, sandy beaches although of course there are a dozen pebble beaches too. You could lie in the hot dry sun on a mat or hire a sunbed, the decision is up to you. Most of the beaches are more or less untouched by tourists and a number are so out of the way that you can have the beach pretty much all to yourself, even in during peak times.
There are a number of interesting mountain areas in Albania. Those in the north are brilliant for skiing or hiking and you are able to visit plenty of waterfalls and astonishing lakes in that part of the country. The mountains in that region are amazing to see but the other mountain regions are also extraordinary.
Albanian cities are extremely lively with a cafe culture leading to plenty of trendy cafes to spend time in. Albania cities such as Kukes are worth spending a few days in to visit the unusual old city area and possibly to visit a museum or two.
Albanians are extremely warm and welcoming and will be more than glad to present to you their country if you are there.
