Albania is a tiny but adorable country in the Mediterranean region of Europe, neighbouring Macedonia. Albania is quite possibly the least visited Mediterranean countries but that is about to change as tourists start to appreciate its wonderful attractions. Without a doubt Albania has extraordinary, white sandy beaches, pristine mountain regions, and happening, improving cities.

Albania’s sandy beaches are gorgeous. These are normally white, sandy beaches but of course there are a few pebble beaches also. You could if you like have fun in the hot dry sun on a blanket or hire a lounge, the decision is up to you to make. Many of the beaches are pretty much untouched by tourists and a couple are so out of the way that you can be at the beach without anyone else, even in during peak times.

There are a number of fantastic mountain areas in Albania. These regions in the north are great for skiing or hiking and you can view a lot of waterfalls and spectacular lakes in the region. The mountains in the north are wonderful to visit but the other mountain regions are also beautiful.

Albanian cities are fun with a cafe culture so there are huge numbers of hip cafes to go to. Albania cities for example Gjirokastra are worth taking the time to visit to see the historic old city area and possibly to visit a few museums.

Without a doubt you will find that Albanians are extremely friendly and will be more than happy to present to you their country if you take the time to visit.
