Why I Prefer Albania Over British Indian Ocean Territory

Albania is a very small but fun country in the Balkan region, fairly close to Serbia. It is one of the least visited Mediterranean countries but that is starting to change as visitors take note of its splendour. Without a doubt Albania has unbelievably beautiful, sandy beaches, more or less untouched mountain regions, and bustling, improving cities.

Albania’s clean sandy beaches are lovely. The beaches are mostly white, sandy beaches although of course there are a couple of pebble beaches as well. You could either have fun in the warm dry sun on a blanket or hire a sun lounge, the choice is up to you to make. Most of the beaches are totally untouched by tourists and a few are so quiet that you could quite possibly have the beach pretty much to yourself, even in summer.

There are a number of exquisite mountain areas in Albania. The mountainous regions in the north are fabulous for skiing or hiking and you can visit a few waterfalls and clean lakes in the region. These mountains are fantastic to view but the other mountain regions are also extraordinary.

Albanian cities are vibrant with a cafe culture meaning there are so many busy cafes to spend time in. Albania cities like Kukes are worth visiting to see the unique old city area and not to mention to visit a museum or two.

People from Albania are extremely friendly and will be happy to show you their country if you are there.
