Albania is a tiny but fantastic country in the Balkan region, not too far from Greece. This country is one of the less popular Mediterranean countries but that is slowly changing as tourists come to appreciate its amazing beauty. Albania has extraordinary, sandy beaches, almost virgin mountain regions, and fun, growing cities.
Albania’s sandy beaches are extraordinary. These are mainly white, sandy beaches although there are some pebble beaches too. You could if you like sit in the bright sun on a rug or hire a sunbed, the choice is yours to make. A lot of the beaches are totally untouched by tourists and a few are so out of the way that you can possibly have the beach pretty much all to yourself, even in summer.
There are many beautiful mountain regions in Albania. These regions in the north are extraordinary for skiing or hiking and you can also view a couple of waterfalls and incredible lakes in that part of the country. These mountains are fabulous to view but the other mountain regions are also amazing.
Albanian cities are extremely vibrant with a cafe culture so there are many busy cafes to go to. Albania cities like Tropoja are worth spending a few days in to see the historic old city area and not to mention to visit a museum or two.
Albanians are mostly warm and welcoming and will be more than glad to take you around their country if you spend some time there.
