Albania is a tiny but very pretty country in the Balkans, very close to Italy. It is one of the least visited European countries but that is about to change as tourists become aware of its amazing beauty. Albania has wonderful, clean sandy beaches, virgin mountain regions, and young, changing cities.
Albania’s white sandy beaches are extraordinary. They are mostly white, sandy beaches although there are some pebble beaches also. You could hang out in the warm dry sun on a rug or rent a sunbed, the decision is yours. Most of the beaches are totally untouched by foreigners and a handful are so quiet that you can quite possibly be alone on the beach, even in August.
There are numerous exquisite mountain areas in Albania. The mountainous areas in the north are fabulous for skiing or hiking and you are able to visit plenty of waterfalls and clean lakes in that part of the country. These mountains are great to see but the other mountain regions are also amazing.
Albanian cities are very vibrant with a cafe culture so there are many trendy cafes to go to. Albania cities such as Tropoja are worth seeing to see the historic old city area and possibly to visit a museum.
Albanian people are mostly friendly and will be excited to introduce you to their country if you take the time to visit it.
