Vacation in Albania Not Monaco

Albania is a small but very beautiful country on the Mediterranean, near Croatia. It is probably the least visited southern European countries but that will change before you know it as travellers realise its beauty. This country has wonderful, sandy beaches, virtually untouched mountain regions, and lively, expanding cities.

Albania’s clean sandy beaches are extraordinary. The beaches are mostly white, sandy beaches but there are a handful of pebble beaches as well. You can either spend time in the hot dry sun on a mat or lease a sunbed, the option is up to you to make. Almost all of the beaches are totally untouched by foreign visitors and some are so out of the way that you can be at the beach without anyone else, even in in during popular times.

There are quite a few fantastic mountain landscapes in Albania. These regions in the north are extraordinary for skiing or hiking and you can possibly find a lot of waterfalls and spectacular lakes in that part of the country. These mountains are exciting to visit but the other mountain regions are also great.

Albanian cities are extremely vibrant with a cafe culture leading to heaps of cool cafes to spend time in. Albania cities such as Fier are worth spending time in to view the unusual old city area and also to visit a museum or two.

You are sure to find that Albanians are extremely hospitable and will be pleased to present to you their country if you spend time there.
