Holiday in Albania Not Costa Rica
Albania is a fairly small but cute country in southern Europe, neighbouring Kosovo. It’s probably the least visited countries in the Mediterranean but that is about to change as people realise its splendour. It has amazing, sandy beaches, more of less virgin mountain regions, and fun, changing cities.
Albania’s sandy beaches are exceptional. They are mostly white, sandy beaches except there are a few pebble beaches also. You can spend time in the bright sun on a towel or pay for a bed, the choice is up to you to make. Many of the beaches are more or less untouched by foreign visitors and a handful are so quiet that you could possibly be alone on the beach, even in August.
There are quite a few fantastic mountain places in Albania. Those in the north are great for skiing or hiking and you can see a few waterfalls and incredible lakes in that part of the country. Those mountains are wonderful to visit but the other mountain regions are also brilliant.
Albanian cities are lively with a cafe culture leading to so many cool cafes to visit. Albania cities like Saranda are worth taking the time to visit to see the historic old city area and also to visit a few museums.
You will most likely find that Albanians are very welcoming and will be glad to introduce you to their country if you are there.
