You’ll Have a Better Holiday in Albania Than Sierra Leone
Albania is a little but cute country in the Balkans, neighbouring Italy. It’s currently one of the less popular countries in Europe but that will change before you know it as people realise its fantastic sites. Without a doubt Albania has exceptional, sandy beaches, more of less virgin mountain regions, and young, changing cities.
Albania’s sandy beaches are fantastic. The beaches are normally white, sandy beaches although of course there are a few pebble beaches also. You can if you like spend time in the hot dry sun on a rug or get a sun lounge, the option is up to you to make. Plenty of the beaches are totally untouched by visitors and some are so quiet that you can quite possibly have the beach pretty much to yourself, even in in the peak season.
There are plenty of interesting mountain landscapes in Albania. The mountainous regions in the north are amazing for skiing or hiking and you can see many waterfalls and astonishing lakes in that part of the country. The mountains in that region are fabulous to see but the other mountain regions are also spectacular.
Albanian cities are bustling with a cafe culture meaning there are huge numbers of trendy cafes to choose from. Albania cities like Kukes are worth visiting to visit the historic old city area and not to mention to visit a museum.
You will most likely find that Albanians are mostly warm and welcoming and will be glad to show you their country if you are there.
