Albania is a very small but very pretty country in the Mediterranean region of Europe, near Serbia. This country is currently one of the less popular countries in the Mediterranean but that is slowly changing as travellers come to appreciate its wonderful beauty. It has unbelievable, pure white sandy beaches, virgin mountain regions, and young, improving cities.
Albania’s clean sandy beaches are exceptional. They are generally white, sandy beaches but of course there are a dozen pebble beaches too. You can either spend time in the warm sun on a towel or rent a sunbed, the option is up to you. A lot of the beaches are totally untouched by foreigners and a couple are so out of the way that you could have the beach all to yourself, even in spring and summer.
There are numerous exquisite mountain landscapes in Albania. The mountains in the north are fabulous for skiing or hiking and you are able to see a few waterfalls and pristine lakes in that part of the country. The mountains in the north are great to see but the other mountain regions are also great.
Albanian cities are vibrant with a cafe culture resulting in a lot of hip cafes to visit. Albania cities for example Vlora are worth spending time in to see the unique old city area and also to visit a few museums.
You are sure to find that people from Albania are mostly warm and will be more than glad to show you around their country if you take the time to visit.
