Albania is a fairly small but fun country on the Mediterranean, close to Montenegro. Albania is one of the less often visited southern European countries but that is about to change as more and more travellers start to take notice of its splendour. Without a doubt Albania has gorgeous, sandy beaches, virtually untouched mountain regions, and fun, improving cities.
Albania’s white sandy beaches are unbelievable. Albanian beaches are mainly white, sandy beaches but of course there are a couple of pebble beaches too. You can if you like hang out in the bright sun on a towel or pay for a sun lounge, the decision is up to you to make. A lot of the beaches are more or less untouched by tourists and a handful are so out of the way that you could quite possibly be alone on the beach, even in during the peak season.
There are numerous mountainous landscapes in Albania. These areas in the north are extraordinary for skiing or hiking and you can possibly find a couple of waterfalls and amazing lakes in the area. These mountains are amazing to visit but the other mountain regions are also fantastic.
Albanian cities are extremely vibrant with a cafe culture leading to many hip cafes to visit. Albania cities for example Gjirokastra are worth visiting to view the unusual old city area and not to mention to visit a couple of museums.
You are sure to find that people from Albania are extremely warm and welcoming and will be excited to take you around their country if you spend some time there.
