Albania is a very small but very adorable country in the Balkans, near Greece. It’s one of the least visited Mediterranean countries but that is about to change as more visitors take note of its fantastic sites. Albania has unbelievably beautiful, clean sandy beaches, virgin mountain regions, and trendy, expanding cities.
Albania’s sandy beaches are exceptional. Albanian beaches are usually white, sandy beaches except there are a dozen pebble beaches also. You could if you like hang out in the bright sun on a rug or pay for a sun bed, the choice is yours. Most of the beaches are virtually untouched by tourists and a handful are so quiet that you can possibly be at the beach alone, even in in during popular times.
There are many exquisite mountain landscapes in Albania. The mountainous areas in the north are fabulous for skiing or hiking and you can possibly find a lot of waterfalls and spectacular lakes in the region. The mountains in the north are amazing to view but the other mountain regions are also spectacular.
Albanian cities are lively with a cafe culture leading to huge numbers of local cafes to choose from. Albania cities such as Elbasan are worth taking the time to visit to see the unique old city area and also to visit a museum.
Albanians are mostly friendly and will be pleased to take you around their country if you take the time to visit it.
