You’ll Have More Fun in Albania Than Arctic Ocean
Albania is a little but very beautiful country in the Balkans, fairly close to Kosovo. Albania is probably the least visited southern European countries but that has already started to change as travellers start to take notice of its wonderful beauty. It has extraordinary, clean sandy beaches, almost virgin mountain regions, and bustling, improving cities.
Albania’s sandy beaches are exceptional. They are mostly white, sandy beaches except there are some pebble beaches too. You could either have fun in the hot dry sun on a mat or pay for a sunbed, the option is yours. Many of the beaches are really untouched by foreign tourists and some are so remote that you can quite possibly have the beach pretty much to yourself, even in August.
There are quite a few exquisite mountain regions in Albania. The mountainous regions in the north are wonderful for skiing or hiking and you can possibly visit a few waterfalls and clean lakes in that part of the country. The mountains in that area are wonderful to visit but the other mountain regions are also spectacular.
Albanian cities are extremely vibrant with a cafe culture leading to plenty of busy cafes to go to. Albania cities for example Gjirokastra are worth spending a few days in to view the unusual old city area and not to mention to visit a couple of museums.
You are sure to find that people from Albania are very hospitable and will be more than pleased to introduce you to their country if you are there.
