Albania is a tiny but very adorable country in the south of Europe, not too far from Greece. It’s one of the less often visited southern European countries but that is most definitely changing as people start to appreciate its wonderful attractions. Albania has gorgeous, clean sandy beaches, more of less virgin mountain regions, and lively, growing cities.
Albania’s sandy beaches are unbelievably beautiful. Albanian beaches are generally white, sandy beaches but of course there are a dozen or so pebble beaches as well. You could lie down in the bright sun on a towel or lease a sunbed, the choice is up to you to make. Most of the beaches are really untouched by foreign visitors and a number are so remote that you could possibly have the beach to yourself, even in spring and summer.
There are numerous exquisite mountain regions in Albania. Those in the north are brilliant for skiing or hiking and you can also see at least a couple of waterfalls and astonishing lakes in the region. Those mountains are fantastic to visit but the other mountain regions are also extraordinary.
Albanian cities are extremely lively with a cafe culture so there are plenty of local cafes to spend time in. Albania cities like Durres are worth taking the time to visit to view the historic old city area and also to visit a couple of museums.
Albanian people are extremely warm and will be pleased to show you their country if you are there.
